Tenant Faces Eviction After Turning Basement Into BDSM Club

Landlord Liam Grant wants to have tenant Hilda Conway evicted from a Dublin address after local police raided the property during a BDSM party known as “Blasphemy.” The original raid occurred in December 2019, but since then, Grant alleges other sex and BDSM parties have occurred.

The eviction allegation claims Conway allowed the basement of her rental to be used as a strip club, brothel, and BDSM club. A forensic accountant working on the case also alleges at least six BDSM parties took place in the basement. Conway requested that a third party join the case as they’re the ones who run the “nightclub” in the basement and who are responsible for the parties.

During the original raid, attendees in fetish gear and naked attendees were found at the party, including a naked man tied to a crucifix being whipped across his bare butt. Grant submitted advertisements he says were for the “Blasphemy” parties. These describe the event as “a fetish friendly event with means there will be strong themes of a sexual nature running throughout the event.”

Irish landlord/tenant laws may be drastically different from those in the US, but one thing is certain — most landlords will never be okay with a BDSM dungeon on their property.
