Man Breaks Into Dorm Room and Steals Vibrator

It started in July 2019 when a 27-year-old man in Singapore broke into a university student’s room and rummaged through her belongings and “fiddled” with her sex toy. By January 2020, he came back twice more, and ultimately stole her pink vibrator worth S$40 (Singapore dollars).

In addition to the break-ins and theft, the man has been accused of sending threatening messages to the student via a messaging app. He’s been charged with two counts of criminal trespassing, one count of theft, and one count of sending “insulting communication.” He and the victim are unnamed due to a gag order protecting the victim’s identity.

If convicted of the charges, the man faces serious penalties. For the trespassing charge, he could receive a fine of up to S$1500, three months in jail, or both. If found guilty of the theft of the vibrator, he may be fined, sent to jail for up to seven years, or both. The charge of insulting communication carries a fine of up to S$5000, eight months in jail, or both.

No motive was stated in the news report about why he stole her vibrator or decided to “fiddle” with the sex toy at all.
