Inventor Lets Twitter Followers Control His Vibrator

Berlin inventor and engineer, who goes by Space Buck on Twitter, revealed his Double-Oh invention through a Twitter poll recently. The Double-Oh powered a vibrator he used anally and people on Twitter controlled the vibrators through poll participation, likes, and retweets. It’s a new invention but it could be the wave of the sex tech future, too.

The custom-built battery is designed to allow wireless control of any device that uses AA batteries. That includes sex toys if the recent Twitter test is any indication. Buck called his experiment an open-source wifi vibrator and tested it by connecting it to a Twitter poll. The vibration intensity of his toy was controlled by the poll itself. Each “like” on the poll added 10 seconds of vibration and each retweet (including quote retweets) added 30 seconds of vibration.

Buck presented his invention at xHain, his local hackerspace, in February. He explained that by controlling voltage levels, the Double-Oh battery can control a vibrator’s intensity.

Think about what this could mean for smart sex toys and sex tech. Instead of connecting directly to a specially built app or another toy, you could one day take your play into a public-private space like your personal Twitter feed.
